Terms of Use

Effective date: July 1, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Verde mobile application ("App") developed by Haytham Masad ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on your personal iOS device solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

2. Hardware & Third-Party Services

The App may connect to Verde hardware sensors, Apple HomeKit, Home Assistant, and third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability or conduct.

3. AI Plant Identification

The plant identification feature uses AI models and is provided for informational purposes only. Results may be inaccurate. Do not make critical agricultural, horticultural, or health decisions solely based on AI output.

4. API Keys

If you provide third-party API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google), you are responsible for their security and any charges incurred. Keys are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not: (a) copy, modify, or distribute the App; (b) reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code; (c) use the App for any unlawful purpose; or (d) remove any proprietary notices.

6. No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will meet your requirements. You use the App at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including damage to plants, property, or irrigation systems.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
